Counselor Character Trait Info:
If at first you don’t succeed, try, try, again- That’s what it means to have our March character trait, Perseverance! There are many times in life when things don’t go our way the first time. Riding a bike without training wheels for the first time, learning a new math concept, and running the mile in PE are just a few examples of times when things are difficult at first. But if you keep trying and don’t give up, even when you get frustrated and feel like quitting, then you have shown perseverance! Talk about some of the ways you’ve shown perseverance.

November 4
Important Announcements:
1. Due to next week's schedule, students will have math homework each evening, and no spelling words.
2. Note from the PTA: We would like to remind our students that on Monday, November 7th is McTeacher Night! Please remember to come out to McDonalds on Leesville Rd (corner of 540/Leesville) between 5-8pm. Mrs. Faircloth and the teachers of Sycamore Creek will be working behind the counter to serve you a great meal! Would you like fries with that?!
Please tell your friends to join you! McDonalds will donate a portion of the night's proceeds back to Sycamore Creek, during this special event! We can't wait to see you there!
3. Announcement from Student Council : Soon the weather is going to become colder and many families in our community don’t have all the resources they need to stay safe and warm. SCES Student council will be holding a coat drive to help these families and would love your support. We are collecting children through adult size coats. You can bring any new or gently used coat to school between November 9th and November 17th. There will be collection bins in front of the gym. Thank you for helping our community!
4. On November 7, your child brought home information in their homework folder describing their first "at home" project. The children will need your help to complete their project, since it includes information about their family's heritage. The options are to complete either a poster board (NO tri-fold boards please!) or a Power Point. If you choose to do a Power Point you may email it to me. The projects are due on Monday, November 21st.
Please let me know if you have any questions after looking over the guidelines. Have fun! :)
