Important Announcements: 1. The school wide spelling bee will be held on January 12th. One class spelling bee winner will participate in the school spelling bee. We will have a written spelling test in our class on Thursday, November 30th. Students will be asked to correctly spell 20 of the words from the second grade list (this list is going home in Friday folders). Students that spell all of these words correctly will participate in a class spelling bee on December 1st.
2. Student Council Food Drive: What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish? While many of us enjoy our favorite feast, some in our community go without food. The The Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC and Student Council are collecting non perishable items this November to help families in our community. Help us show these families that Our Crocs Rock and Our Crocs Care! We are going to be collecting food and household items to donate to students and families that cannot afford the items they need. We are collecting items from November 1st to November 30th. You can bring them to school and place them in the bins outside the gym.These are some of the items that we need most:-Canned foods like: fruit, veggies, beans, meat, and soup-Cereal-Pasta-Fruit cups-Peanut butter-Paper towel & toilet paper-Tooth brushes & toothpaste-Granola bars & crackers

4. In partnership with the Wake PTA Council, Instructional Technology and Library Media Services is sponsoring a parent event entitled "What Every Tech Healthy Family Needs to Know." As a part of our fall Convergence, our opening keynote speaker, Janell Burley Hofmann will speak to parents on November 27th from 6:30-7:30 pm at the McKimmon Center at NCSU. We made our brains stronger when we... Reading: identified text features and what information we learned from each text feature. Writing: started our Country research with a partner. Math: finished our subtraction unit. Social Studies: shared our "heritage Projects" and learned about others heritage and traditions.
